Miniaturen

The miniatures for solo bassoon, composed in 2015, consist of five short movements that offer performers the opportunity to demonstrate their skill and virtuosity. Three energetic movements are interspersed with two quiet movements, which are linked by an audible thread.

Delib­er­ately avoiding extended playing techniques, the challenge lies primarily in the speed, rhythm, and wide range of notes.
